Last year we were contacted by the guest editors of a special issue of European Papers, a multilingual journal from Sapienza University of Rome that covers legal aspects of European integration.

The special issue would feature 12 articles in English by legal scholars from countries such as Albania, Belgium, Greece, Norway, and Switzerland. Due to the tight deadline, the articles would be sent to us one by one as the authors completed them — this was, of course, no problem at all.

The project demanded quickly familiarizing ourselves with the journal's author guidelines, carefully editing the various papers as they became available, and communicating back and forth with the authors as we sought approval for our changes. With there being so many different authors, we had to be particularly cautious to harmonize the language across the 12 articles and that the use of specific terms remained uniform.

Once the final paper was delivered six weeks later, the project could be wrapped up and handed back to the editors for the next stage in the production process. The special issue was published later in the year — take a look at it here.
